Siân Butler

As a former Executive Director of Assurance and Risk, Siân has demonstrable experience of corporate governance at board level for a large highly technical business that requires the highest level of quality, safety and security. She also has extensive experience of leading large teams of people.

Siân truly believes that education provides the key to opening opportunities for all. “The future success for our community and nation is in the hands of our young people and it is essential that we provide them with the best educational experience we possibly can,” she says. During her career, Siân has had the amazing opportunity to hold accountability for the company apprentice scheme – "the privilege of working with our early career talent was one of the most energising experiences  I have had”.

As a female scientist who has challenged stereotypes both during her own education and career, Siân is passionate about encouraging diversity and inclusion. As a Fellow of the Royal Society of Chemistry and a role model ambassador for Women in Science and Engineering (WiSE), Siân is particularly keen to champion STEM. 

Siân is married with 2 children one of whom has multiple and complex learning difficulties, and has seen at first hand the positive impact that excellent SEN professionals have and as such is extremely supportive of this specialism.
